As an Analyst I, you will participate in:
Data Collection & Organization: Gather and structure data from various sources, including databases, spreadsheets, and external businesses that collect and remit sales tax, to support data integrityData Analysis: Examine and interpret sales tax records from businesses to identify patterns, discrepancies, and trends, providing actionable insights that guide decision-making
Process Improvement: Develop and implement best practices for data analysis, continuously improving how we collect, audit, and manage tax-related data
Quality Assurance: Conduct regular audits and perform quality checks to ensure accuracy and compliance with sales tax regulations
Reporting: Create ad-hoc reports to answer specific operational questions and prepare weekly or monthly summaries to support cross-functional areas, ensuring data-driven decisions are made across the organization
Construction Project Reconciliation: Conduct detailed reviews of construction-related tax data, including economic incentives, tax exemptions, refunds, and compliance audits
Amended Returns & Refund Oversight: Verify the accuracy of amended tax returns and refund requests, ensuring compliance with all regulations and policies
New Sales Tax System Operations: Support the transition to a new Sales Tax system by assisting with data integrity, reconciliations, and ensuring the system is operating properly
Position Duties
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in a related area of study.
One year of full-time, professional experience in a related field.

Minimum Qualifications
- Experience working in compliance or accounting/finance
- Experience working in federal, state or local government
