The Senior Vice President of Development is responsible for creating value by implementing the strategic development opportunities identified by fully vetting the entitlement process and due diligence, directing the vision throughout the design progression, and overseeing the execution through coordination with Preconstruction, Construction, and Property Management during lease-up.

Strategic Work:
- Support the Executive team by helping underwrite, evaluate opportunities and manage the landscape for opportunities within target markets.
- Oversees and Manages the high-level costs and risks associated with new development pursuits.
- Manages the communication lines between the Executive Team, Design Consultants, and the Development Team to carry the development vision through to reality.
- Assign and manage the internal and external resources to ensure that the projects have the available resources to be successful.
- Engage and manage the due diligence and design process with the Preconstruction and Estimating team to ensure that projects are being designed to the highest standards but within market cost constraints.
- Continually seek better effective communication and processes to better track, streamline and manage our business.
- Engage Embrey Management and Embrey Construction to assist in transitioning projects. Assume the role of an asset manager with EMS, attend monthly budget reviews, leasing velocity, coordinate with Development EVP to maximize project value.
- Manage all accounting activities during the pursuit, project construction, asset management, and disposition.
- Manage several one-off projects for upper management.
- Knowledgeable of the market competition relative to the specific projects we are working on relative to design, level of finish, and overall performance.
Tactical Work:
- Conduct team meetings bi-weekly to ensure that the Development processes are being utilized, organized, and accounted for throughout each new project.
- Oversee the Entitlement progression through the day-to-day processes of communicating directly with Cities/municipalities, Consultants, and Development Managers.
- Oversee the Design Development process inclusive of signing and negotiating individual Consulting Agreements, Design Kick-offs and driving schedules.
- Provide reporting updates to executive leadership monthly via the Development Team Meetings for all pursuit projects identifying milestones, risks and design updates.
- Communicate with outside partners via monthly progress reports and be their primary point of contact throughout the projects.

Position Specific:
- Oversee and manage (2) two new project development starts annually.
- Reporting updates for executive leadership will be completed by the 4th Monday of every month
- Deliver best in class projects to maximize value to the organization and partners through directing the Design, Construction and Disposition of each development.
- Possess ability to gauge the audience and represent the company’s standards and professionalism in all conversation and action both externally and internally.
- Possess superior analytical, quantitative, problem solving, writing and communication skills.
