Dunlop Manufacturing, Inc., a long-standing manufacturer for the Music Industry located in Benicia, is looking for a Business Development Specialist to join our team. We are a privately held family corporation.
The Business Development Specialist is a key member the successful candidate will have a passion for music and a strong understanding of the music industry. They will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with influential artists to help promote Dunlop’s products and enhance the brand's visibility.
Responsibilities will include:
Analyze market trends and consumer preferences to develop products and strengthen existing product positioning; Gather and interpret competitor data on pricing, sales, marketing, and distribution strategies;
Conduct and evaluate surveys, polls, and questionnaires, managing and analyzing the resulting data set; Attend trade shows and consumer events to interact with buyers and consumers, collecting valuable insights on market trends;
Utilize trade shows and consumer events to engage with consumers and buyers, leveraging surveys and questionnaires to gather market data;
Plan and execute artist and consumer marketing events in strategic target markets, ensuring a high-quality experience;
Monitor and measure the success of marketing strategies and advertising campaigns; Provide insight to optimize social media campaigns across platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok) to drive engagement, clickthrough, and conversion; Cultivate and maintain relationships with emerging and established artists, fostering partnerships to support their careers. Harnessing the office location prioritizing Nashville based artists;
Conceptualize and develop Artist Signature Products, leveraging artist networks and market insights to create innovative and appealing products;
Provide proposals detailing the design, promotion, and pricing of present and future artist signature products;
Prepare reports and presentations for senior leadership, translating complex findings into actionable insights. In order to perform the above tasks, the following skills and experience are required:
Experience with guitar effects and accessories, with the ability to communicate and demonstrate their features to artists and technicians, including a technical understanding of common circuits, processors, and platforms used in the production of guitar effects;
Experience with the history of musicians and the pedals, picks, and accessories they used, and how this relates to the brand’s target audience;
Experience with the music accessories market, including trending and up-and-coming artists;
Experience with brand positioning and product marketing, and the ability to align artists with product promotion, with a history of successful artist or influencer marketing campaigns;
Experience in marketing and processing analytics on social media platforms, such as Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, with the ability to create campaigns that prioritize engagement, clickthrough, and conversion;
Experience with managing relationships, contract negotiations, and ongoing business development with artists, producers, and industry professionals;
Experience conducting and evaluating surveys, polls, and questionnaires, and managing the subsequent dataset;
Experience with using Excel; Experience with Syspro and Notation as well or similar enterprise resource planning and product planning software;
Experience in event planning and execution, including artist and consumer-facing events, trade shows, and promotional activations.
Requirements
Requires a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Marketing, Music or related field, and at least three years of experience as a Management Consultant or related artist relations occupation. Travel required: 30 days a year to Benicia, CA and other locations.

Competitive Salary commensurate with ability- Salary range $60,445.00--$86,500.00.
