Job Summary:

Provides direction and oversight of all patient access functions within their designated market(s) in collaboration with the Adventist Health (AH) senior leadership team. Responsible for effectively collaborating and communicating with fellow key leaders across AH to drive efficient patient access processes and quality patient experience. Provides leadership for the designated market(s) Consumer Financial Experience & Patient Access team. Has direct management responsibility for the following functions across hospital and clinic locations within their market(s): Referral Management, Scheduling, Registration, Pre-Registration, Patient Estimates and Point-of-Service Collections, Insurance Verification, Pre-authorization Verification, and Financial Counseling.

Job Requirements:

Education and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Required
  • Master's degree: Preferred
  • Seven years' related experience: Preferred
  • Five years' leadership experience: Preferred

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Patient Access or Revenue Cycle Industry Certification (CHFP or CHAM): Preferred

Essential Functions:

  • Maintains strong understanding of revenue cycle metrics, and leads team in building plans to support operational departments to achieve best practice performance through strong analytical capabilities, process improvement identification, and technology enhancements. Implements consistent policies, procedures, and productivity standards to improve market operations.
  • Performs vendor assessments, creates ROI analyses, and recommends technology advancements. Effectively collaborates with IT and project management leaders for the successful planning and execution of patient access-related applications/systems as part of information system transformation projects within region/market.
  • Leads their designated region to continuously improve its patient access performance through data and metrics, partnering with other departments, as needed. Monitors and provides regular reporting to senior management on key performance metrics. Directs and/or oversees analysis of issues to identify developing issues/changes/risks with the potential to impact patient access operations within designated market(s).
  • Manages annual regional/market labor spend budget and work with leadership team to adhere to it. Identifies and implements opportunities to come in underneath budget. Collaborates with AH leaders to develop strategies and recommendations to mitigate risk. Develops, maintains, and ensures compliance with standardized policies, processes, programs throughout designated market(s).
  • Organizes and guides meetings to support effective operations, share best practices, and create cross-team collaboration forums. Guides career growth and development for team members, providing opportunities to improve competencies, lead initiatives, and growth.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
