TITLE OF VACANCY: Pre-K STRIVE Teacher
LOCATION: TBD
CONTRACT PERIOD: 180 Days
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
Sign on Bonus: For the 2025-2026 school year, a sign on bonus will be provided to new hires.
The first installment ($2,000.00) shall be paid within thirty (30) days of the successful candidate’s start date (sign on bonus will be prorated).
The second installment ($2,000.00) shall be paid on the first paycheck in June 2026, following the successful candidate’s first year (sign on bonus will be prorated).
If the employee does not complete 4 years, they will be responsible for repayment of the prorated amount ($1,000.00 per year).
For the 2025-2026 school year, all teachers in the following positions will receive a stipend in the amount of $2,500.00 (stipened bonus will be prorated).
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Illinois Professional Educators License and Early Childhood Special Education endorsement/approvals
- Knowledge of current curriculum, instructional trends, and school improvement process
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong problem solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to informally and formally assess learning and behavioral needs of students.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide a high quality, structured learning environment for Pre-K students with Autism and/or Intellectual Disabilities.
- Plan and implement instruction in accordance with the approved Student Support Services Pre-K curriculum for instructional classrooms.
- Establish and maintain records of student assessment procedures and progress monitoring.
- Maintain a classroom climate conducive to learning by establishing routines, a behavior management plan and social emotional support.
- Implement curricular and behavioral support to students as Individualized Education Programs specify.
- Actively participate in staff development activities.
- Contribute to school improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQUIP) initiatives.
- Attend district in-services and professional development opportunities in order to implement new strategies for curriculum and instructional improvement.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, staff, and the public.
- Other duties as assigned.
