Senior Manager, Art Director

The Senior Manager, Art Director will lead the next evolution of Hunter’s brand identity, driving a bold, modern, and product-centric visual direction across all marketing channels. This role will serve as the creative force behind how our brand shows up in the world — ensuring all visual storytelling reflects contemporary design trends, elevates our product portfolio, and connects emotionally with customers. With a strong digital focus, this leader will transform how we present new product collections and campaigns across eCommerce, social, video, email, and print.

This is a pivotal role for a visionary creative leader who combines hands-on design expertise with trend fluency, aesthetic sophistication, and strategic thinking. The right candidate will push boundaries, inspire teams, and champion a design-forward culture that keeps the Hunter brand fresh, competitive, and product-driven.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Creative Vision & Brand Leadership

Define and lead the future-facing visual direction of the Hunter brand across all channels and customer experiences

Establish a high design standard that reflects our product innovation and brand ambition

Lead concepting and execution of brand and product campaigns that are modern, trend-relevant, and emotionally resonant

Ensure consistent, cohesive visual language across all digital channels

Champion a culture of creative excellence, curiosity, and brand stewardship across internal and external teams

Digital Content & Campaign Execution

Drive a digital-first creative strategy focused on eCommerce, paid social, email, and web

Translate product positioning into compelling digital assets that convert and inspire

Develop customer journey-based creative that supports awareness, consideration, and conversion stages

Create and oversee development of eCommerce assets such as homepage modules, PDP imagery, carousel banners, and digital ads

Optimize visual content based on performance analytics, A/B testing, and marketing objectives

Product Storytelling & Asset Development

Lead the visual expression of new product launches through photography, video, and digital storytelling

Direct and oversee creative production including photo and video shoots, from casting to styling and post-production

Collaborate with Product and eCommerce teams to craft assets that highlight product features and consumer benefits

Maintain brand integrity and creative quality across all content deliverables

Evolve visual merchandising assets that support in-store and online sell-through

Creative Operations & Team Management

Manage internal designers, freelancers, and agency partners to ensure timely, on-brand delivery of creative assets

Build scalable creative workflows and guardrails to support business growth

Maintain and evolve brand guidelines, toolkits, and asset libraries

Foster a collaborative, high-performing creative team environment

Monitor resource allocation and creative output across all projects

Trend Forecasting & Industry Awareness

Track emerging trends in design, culture, retail, and digital marketing

Incorporate insights into creative direction and brand evolution

Attend relevant industry events, webinars, or creative reviews to stay informed and inspired

Identify opportunities for innovation in storytelling, formats, and creative strategy

Bring a contemporary, competitive lens to how the brand appears to consumers

 

 

 

 

 

Education/Experience Requirements

BA degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Fine Arts, or a related field

Minimum 7 years of professional experience in brand creative, design, or art direction

Strong experience in digital-first creative, especially for eCommerce, paid social, email, and video

Proven ability to lead product-focused creative strategies and customer journey-driven design

Special Qualifications or Skills

Strong portfolio demonstrating concept-driven, trend-aware, and cross-platform creative

Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite and digital tools like Figma, Sketch, or XD

Deep understanding of eCommerce design systems, including product carousels, landing pages, and digital merchandising

Ability to translate consumer and product insights into compelling visual storytelling

Experience directing and producing brand photo and video shoots

Strong leadership, team management, and cross-functional collaboration skills

Comfort operating in a fast-paced, agile marketing environment with multiple priorities

Experience in motion design, animation, or 3D a plus

Highly organized with excellent communication and creative presentation skills
