Job Summary

Supervises the Technical Maintenance team and is responsible for planning and organizing all functions related to the troubleshooting, repair, installation, and routine and preventative maintenance of electrical and mechanical equipment, machinery and components. Equipment ranges from motors and hand-tools to complex multi-part units like dust collectors, wastewater handling setups, as well as CNC-controlled equipment.

This position is located in Comfort, TX.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

•Supervises all Technical Maintenance staff repairs and preventative maintenance of manufacturing equipment. Schedules and assigns work, establishes performance measures, goals, objectives and priorities. 

•Helps train Maintenance Technicians with various maintenance tasks and provides technical support and troubleshooting equipment as needed.

•Oversees the operation, training, and documentation of the wastewater program. Conducts regular inspections of the wastewater treatment process, pump stations and other wastewater duties as directed by manager.

•Schedules and assigns all routine and preventative maintenance for JAC manufacturing facilities to include third party contractors.

•Diagnoses and repairs electrical, mechanical, fluid power, and electronic equipment and machinery, both off-line and in machine-down situations.

•Installs equipment and machinery in accordance with manufacturing specifications.

•Performs approved modifications to machinery in order to accommodate established manufacturing needs.

•Calibrates and maintains various controls (programmable logic controls, pressure transducers, etc.) and processes (gas fired furnace, controlled atmosphere furnace, vacuum casting machine, etc.).

•Proficiently operates, programs and maintains various instruments (digital and analog oscilloscopes, data loggers, PLC's w thermocouples, power monitoring and analysis, sensors etc.) and equipment, as well as exercise all actuators, motors and sensor-circuits.

•Serves as the subject matter expert on assigned advanced purchased equipment (CNC ring fab, furnaces, injectors etc.) responsible for performing installation and troubleshooting complex problems and repairs. 

•Identifies opportunities for improvement during work projects and proposes solutions to Manager.

•Works with management to improve Technical Maintenance metrics, ensure metrics are at goal, and provides and implements solutions for improved metrics.

•Assists in maintaining the parts inventory area and necessary preventative maintenance assignments. Identifies and requisitions parts as needed to complete various tasks.

•Maintains tools, equipment and vehicles in good working condition.

•Observe all safety regulations; participate in safety training; reports all unsafe conditions to the appropriate company personnel.

•Leads projects and performs additional duties as assigned by Leadership. 

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

•High School Diploma or equivalent.

•4 years’ experience in maintenance or related field.

•Supervisory, Leadership or Training experience in maintenance or similar work. 

•Comprehensive understanding of maintenance operations, safety, tools and terminology.

•Strong organizational skills with ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously and adjust to changing priorities.

•Strong analytical skills with ability to diagnose problems and develop repair solutions. 

•Ability to comprehend technical manuals and schematics.

•Demonstrated computer skills including basic proficiency in MS Office.

•Ability to work flexible schedules and/or various hours dependent upon business needs.

•Ability to travel to various work locations as business need requires.

Preferred Qualifications

•Associate or Technical Degree; or similar demonstrated experience in HVAC, electrical, mechanical, pneumatics, hydraulics or relevant field.

•Intermediate proficiency in Excel with ability to create spreadsheets, sums, averages etc.
