Parks Maintenance Worker bei City of Friendswood

The City of Friendswood is currently accepting applications for a Parks Maintenance Worker.

Purpose of the Job: To maintain and upkeep the City's parks, buildings, grounds, and structures.

Duties:

• Assists in the construction and maintenance of park facilities and City buildings.
• Performs routine grounds maintenance, including watering, fertilizing, cutting grass, trimming trees and hedges, planting plants, filling in holes, and picking up litter and other debris.
• Drives truck, tractor mower, and other vehicles to perform maintenance duties.
• Operates weed eaters, edgers, power saws, and other equipment.
• Services and cleans vehicles and equipment.
• Performs routine facility maintenance, including, plumbing repairs, carpentry, painting, electrical work, air conditioning repair, and irrigation repair and installation.
• Digs and fills holes and ditches.
• Assists with setting up the annual Fourth of July, Santa in the Park, Holiday Hustle Fun Run and other departmental sponsored events.
• Operates the mosquito spraying truck to fumigate the City.
• Performs other duties within the areas of responsibility and ability, as assigned.

Skills and Knowledge:

• Basic knowledge of the use, care, and maintenance of hand tools, testing instruments, and small power tools.
• Basic knowledge of the operation of a tractor, generator, and mosquito sprayer.
• Advanced knowledge of plumbing, painting, carpentry, irrigation, electrical work and basic HVAC knowledge.

Minimum Requirements:

Two years' experience

• High School diploma or G.E.D

• Valid Texas Drivers License with a good driving record

This job may require 24 hour availability in an emergency situation
