Position Summary

Precept for psychiatric clinical experience for nurse practitioners.

Responsibilities

General Roles and Responsibilities

1. Maintains confidentiality and work in a professional manner with a variety of individuals, community professionals, and colleagues.
2. Establishes a rapport with youth and families, while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
3. Communicates and works with a multi-faceted team of professionals.
4. Utilizes and understands cross-system designs.
5. Willingness to learn through training, supervision, and day to day experiences.
6. Ability to collaborate with school staff and other service providing staff to implement services and programs.

Program/Department Roles and Responsibilities

1. Works with program leadership to identify areas of focus to obtain and complete educational requirements as outlined by the college/university of the Intern to support the learning process and develop critical thinking of social work systems and approaches.
2. Participates in activities that will broaden the understanding and knowledge of service systems.

Qualifications

1. Educational Requirements

   1. Current enrollment in an accredited Nurse Practitioner program

2. Experience Requirements
   1. Up to one year of experience working
   2. Excellent communication skills - both oral and written.
   3. Experience working with youth preferred.
   4. General knowledge of issues facing at-risk youth (i.e., drug/alcohol, gangs, etc.).
3. Clearances
   1. Good driving record – valid driver’s license and car insurance required.
   2. Proper clearances (State, FBI, and Child Line Clearances – depending on location).
