About the Department
The Louisiana Veterans Homes is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Registered Dietician to oversee and manage the operation of our Dietary department. This role is vital to ensuring their role in providing nutritional care in health and disease, and in a general clinical and/or production area. The ideal candidate will have strong inventory management skills, supervisory experience, and the ability to maintain accurate records in a fast-paced environment. Job Duties:
The Registered Dietician requires both administrative and clinical therapeutic dietary work for the Louisiana Veteran's Home and will perform specific functions such as:
- Directs all food preparation and service operations.
- Performs all nutritional assessments and enters data electronically by medical charting on all residents.
- Prepares performance evaluation of subordinate personnel.
- Requisitions all food, supplies, etc., through the procurement office in accordance with departmental budget.
- Develops and implements the Department Policy and Procedure Manual.
- Participates in Department Head meeting and other meetings as required.
- Coordinates residents' menu planning committee for input into menu.
