Job Requirements, Prerequisites and Essential Functions:

EDUCATION
1. High School diploma or equivalent preferred
2. Completion of a Nurse Assistant program, Emergency Medical Technician
program, Orthopedic Technician program or related program is preferred

EXPERIENCE
A minimum of the equivalent of one year full-time experience in a patient care position,
such as a Nurse Aide, Hospital Technician or Orthopedic Technician, is required

LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATIONS
Basic Life Support Required within 30 days of hire
Integrative Agitation Management (IAM) Required within 30 days of hire
Certified Nurse Assistant Preferred at hire
Emergency Medical Technician Preferred at hire


PREREQUISITE SKILLS
1. Demonstrated technical competency in supplies and equipment utilized in a surgical/recovery environment
2. Proficiency in search/data entry and basic computer skills
3. Ability to set priorities and maintain a calm demeanor while working in a fastpaced atmosphere of conflicting demands
4. Ability to work tactfully and effectively with physicians, nurses and other hospital employees
5. Ability to interact professional and compassionately with patients and their families
6. Knowledge of principles of sterilization and aseptic technique
