On Lok 30th Street Senior Center is San Francisco's largest multipurpose senior center with eight programs serving more than 6,000 seniors per year. We offer multiple programs for active seniors citywide including exercise classes, delicious meals and a variety of social activities to carry out our mission to help seniors remain healthy, independent and in their communities for as long as possible. Our Aging and Disability Resource Center, home delivered meals, and case management programs, provide additional support to seniors in our community.

POSITION SUMMARY: Supports all nutrition programming under On Lok Day Services (OLDS) including home delivered, congregate, and medically tailored meal services. Implements nutrition interventions for participant by consulting with physicians and other health care professionals; reviews patient records; interviews and counsels patients; assesses nutritional needs; formulates appropriate diets; instructs food preparation personnel; verifies food preparation techniques; checks meals for palatability and appearance.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assess nutritional needs, diet restrictions and work with current health plans to develop and implement dietary-care plans and provide nutritional counseling.
- Advise participants and their families on nutritional principles, dietary plans, diet modifications, and food selection and preparation.
- Counsel individuals and groups on basic nutrition concepts, healthy eating habits, and nutrition monitoring to improve their quality of life.
- Inspect meals served for conformance to prescribed diets and standards of palatability and appearance.
- Coordinate recipe development and standardization and develop new menus for food service operations.
- Make recommendations regarding public policy as it relates to On Lok's meal programs.
- Fulfill all administrative requirements, such as reporting, making entries into charts and attending meetings as required.
- Provide nutrition counseling through both in-person and remote sessions
- Maintain current training and compliance with all HIPAA regulations.
- Other reasonably related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS (knowledge, skills, abilities):
- Bachelor's Degree or ACEND-accredited nutrition program
- Registered Dietitian License
- Dietetic Internship ACEND-accredited supervised practice experience
- strong communication and counseling skills.
- Able and willing to travel for participant visitation
- Serv Safe Certification within 180 days of hire
- Valid driver's license

Your final compensation offer will be determined based on factors such as skills, experience, education, and licenses/certifications. The pay range is expressed as an hourly rate regardless of FLSA status. Exempt positions are paid salaried and are not subject to overtime.
