Paraprofessional II - Lead Child Care Provider bei Corpus Christi Independent School District

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Child Care Director's Certificate issued by TDFPS Child Care Licensing
• CPR, First Aid (for infants and adults) and Food Handlers Permit
• 30 clock hours of annual training in early childhood, including 6 clock hours of management

• Associate's Degree in Early Childhood

• Experience in leading a team
• Experience and knowledge of Early Childhood Best Practices
• Knowledge of TDFPS- Child Care Licensing Minimum Standards

• Basic computer operations
• Basic work processing
• Basic data archiving
• E-mail
• Basic use of job-related student management system
• Knowledge of District Acceptable Use Policy and Technology Ethics/Etiquette

• At least two years' experience in a licensed child care facility as a director, assistant director, or as a caregiver working directly with children
• Proven performance in position with similar responsibilities that demonstrates knowledge of child development
• Preferred: Experience in leadership position

• Possesses organizational and time management skills.
• Communicates effectively in both written and oral forms.
• Exhibits ability to relate and respond professionally and positively to resolve issues in the absence of CEC District Supervisor
• Demonstrates knowledge of early childhood procedures and best practices
• Demonstrates physical, emotional, and intellectual competencies necessary for self-control and good judgment when performing assigned responsibilities
• Demonstrates ability to handle multiple priorities effectively, maintains confidentiality, and works independently on assigned tasks.
• Maintains professional appearance, and serves as a positive role model.

• Maintain the child care center's daily operations in compliance with the minimum standards set forth by Child Care Licensing.
• Maintain open communication with parents, principals, assistant principals, administrative personnel, co-workers, demonstrating tolerance and respect.
• Willing and able to work as part of a team as a leader.
• Physically able to bend, lift, reach, and endure sustained physical activity throughout the day.
• Willing to receive instruction and direction from the CEC District Supervisor.
• Maintain confidentiality with regard to student and employee information.
• Able to travel within the district to attend leadership meetings.
• Maintain children and staff files.
• Report suspected abuse or neglect to the Child Protective Services and to law enforcement as required by the Texas Family Code.
• Operates food service in compliance with all CACFP regulations.
• Performs any and all other duties as assigned by the CEC District Supervisor.

• Oversee care providers as they fulfill their daily assignments and responsibilities.
• Oversee the classroom daily curriculum implementation to meet the needs of children.
• Maintains an environment which is oriented to the safety and welfare of children and staff.
• Use good knowledge of and experience in working as an early childhood professional to make decisions that are sound and professional.
• Complete 30 hours of annual training in the area of early childhood, with at least 6 of those hours in supervisory/management topics.
