SUMMARY

Demonstrate proficiency in administering the fundamentals of the nursing process, providing prescribed medical treatment to ill, injured, convalescent, and disabled persons in such setting as private homes, or schools.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Nursing diploma from two or four-year College or University; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Preference given to those with Home Health Agency experience, pediatric programs, or coordinating services for special needs children.

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Communicate, manage new and existing knowledge, support and supervise LPN staff, exercise decision-making skills.
  2. Provides care for assigned home health patients including, but not limited to;
  3. Nursing assessment: initial head to toe, vital signs and ongoing monitoring of patients.
  4. Activities of daily living: bathing, toileting, diapering, lifting, transferring,
  5. Nutritional support: feedings by mouth, gastrostomy tube, naso-gastric tube, maintenance of aspiration precautions,
  6. Respiratory treatments: administration of aerosolized nebulizer treatment, chest physiotherapy, oral/nasal/tracheal suctioning, pulse oximetry, oxygen therapy, ventilator management, cleaning and maintenance of respiratory supplies,
  7. Safety measures: maintenance of universal, fall and seizure precautions,
  8. Growth and development enhancement: provide client with verbal, visual and tactile stimulation, range of motion exercises, splint or physical therapies,
  9. Administration of medication, and
  10. Documentation of all activities and assessment findings.
  11. Assure that progress reports are made to the office personnel and/or physician for patients under medical care when there are changes in the patient's condition or there are deviations from the Plan of Care.
  12. Retain overall responsibility for the care given to each patient.

 

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Valid Florida Driver's License

Valid Florida RN License

CPR Certification

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT
