General Statement of Duties:
The Manager, Mission-Aligned Community Resources serves as a proud Webster University ambassador who cultivates and strengthens relationships with corporations, foundations, and associations whose charitable priorities align with Webster’s mission. This individual plays a vital role in building authentic partnerships that advance shared goals through cause-related funding, sponsorships, grants, and philanthropic gifts.
Reporting to the Associate Vice President with a dotted-line to the Senior Directors and Directors of Community Resource Development, the Manager provides both strategic leadership and hands-on execution of initiatives designed to inspire connection, deepen loyalty, and mobilize support for Webster’s global mission. We are seeking an energetic, organized professional who thrives on relationship building, creative collaboration, and holistic partnership development. The ideal candidate brings strong writing and communication skills, a strategic mindset, and a deep appreciation for Webster’s mission and impact.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities*
- Cultivate, solicit, and steward relationships with corporations, foundations, and associations whose missions align with Webster University’s values and strategic priorities.
- Identify and pursue funding opportunities that support a broad range of University initiatives, including scholarships, academic programs, facilities, research, and community impact projects.
- Collaborate closely with University leadership, deans, faculty, and staff to align partnership opportunities with institutional goals and priorities.
- Develop compelling proposals, presentations, and reports for prospective and current partners, ensuring timely and thoughtful follow-up and stewardship.
- Partner with the Global Marketing team to create inspiring communication materials that highlight impact and recognize mission-aligned supporters.
- Manage a portfolio of corporate and foundation partners, ensuring personalized engagement strategies for each relationship.
- Work collaboratively with the Community Resource Development team and University Agents to achieve annual fundraising and engagement goals.
- Identify prospective partners and potential board members with strong corporate or foundation relationships.
- Stay informed on trends in corporate philanthropy, foundation giving, and community partnership best practices to guide strategy and innovation.
Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm; some evening and/or weekend work required for special events. This position is approved for a 1-day hybrid work arrangement as offered in Webster University’s Flexible Work Arrangements policy. Use by individual employees is at the discretion of the supervisor and unit leadership based on department and University need.
