The position supports the company’s accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and efficient A/R processes. It’s a hands-on role that contributes to both daily transactional work and higher-level financial reporting, with exposure to audit preparation and acquisition integration. The role reports to the Controller and works closely with other accounting team members.
Position Description
- Support various month end tasks.
- Assist with preparation and posting of month end journal entries.
- Process month-end tasks in the ERP system.
- Reconcile reports and account balances to ensure accuracy.
- Produce timely financial results in line with GAAP standards.
- Assist with year-end audit activities.
- Prepare schedules and documentation for annual financial audits.
- Support external auditors by providing requested information.
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls to ensure data accuracy and compliance.
- Develop proficiency across the full spectrum of A/R processes through cross-training.
- Process daily A/R transactions, including invoicing, credit memos, adjustments, and payment applications.
- Monitor customer accounts and manage collections to ensure timely payments.
- Communicate with customers to resolve billing issues and maintain strong relationships.
- Support financial due diligence and integration efforts related to acquisitions.
- Assist with onboarding acquired entities into accounting systems.
- Help align policies, processes, and financial reporting with company standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth financial transition
- Demonstrate strong collaboration and flexibility.
- Cross-train with colleagues to ensure team flexibility and department coverage.
- Partner with other departments to troubleshoot financial and operational issues.
- Foster a collaborative and cooperative team culture.
- Assist CFO/Controller as needed
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3-5 years of experience in accounting, including AP, AR, invoicing, GL, financial analysis
Skills & Abilities
- Solid understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles
- Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP’s, formulas); ERP/accounting software experience a plus
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- High regard for respect in the workplace with good ethical and moral judgment
- Research and resolution, data analysis, financial analysis, documentation skills, and attention to detail
