Substitute Registered Nurse, Day to Day bei Norristown Area School District

Current vacancies exist for day to day Substitute Registered Nurses within the Norristown Area School District for the 2025-2026 School Year.  

Qualifications:                    

• Current registered nurse licensure required
• Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide medical first-aid services in the absence of the Certificated School Nurse in accordance with district guidelines and standards of school nursing practice.

• Conduct state mandated height/weight screening for all students in assigned schools at least once a year and record information on forms provided.

• Administer medication as per district guidelines.

• Examine students returning to school following an illness of three days or more or communicable disease when a note from the physician is not provided.

• Screen students who present symptoms of communicable disease and excludes in line with district guidelines.

• Initiate phone contact with parents/guardians of children who are absent from school for medical reasons and documents for review by the Certificated School Nurse.

• Provide health services as prescribed for student having special medical needs.

• Schedule students for various screening procedures and physical examinations as directed by the Certificated School Nurse.

• Contact parents/guardians to arrange transportation for sick/injured children.

• Compile accident reports for review by the Certificated School Nurse.
• Assist Certificated School Nurse in scheduling scoliosis screening.
• Prepare first-aid kits for office and for field trips.
• Maintain a record of student contacts on appropriate district forms.

Salary 2025-2026:

$32.59/hr

** schedule will be up to 4 days as needed.
