Job Summary:
The Recruiter is responsible for full cycle recruiting, as well as creating and implementing a comprehensive and effective onboarding and recruitment plan for the hospital. They will be responsible for providing a pipeline of candidates to vacant position through sourcing and recruiting talent.
Essential Functions and Duties:
- Pre-screens job candidates, conducts preliminary interviews, arranges drug tests, conducts background checks and assists management with conducting interviews.
- Assists in investigating and developing marketing techniques to improve recruiting and Touchette’s name and recognition including techniques geared toward nursing programs as needed and assigned
- Provides recommendations and input regarding the best methods for finding and attracting qualified applicants
- Oversees the onboarding of new employees and the development of onboarding materials and programs for new employees
- Supports the hospital’s goals through productive teamwork with other employees and develops strong relationships with members of the community and potential employees.
- Determines and utilizes appropriate sources for finding external candidates through advertising, direct contact, job fairs, social media platforms, networking, or other identified methods
- Manages and plans recruitment and retention activities
- Manages tracking system for applications and job requisitions
- Oversees and is responsible for maintenance of applications and job requisitions.
- Develops and maintains HR Recruitment Metrics (ie. Turnover and vacancy rates).
- Assists directors, managers, and supervisors in determining appropriate salary offers based on a review of candidate experience, approved pay grades and the current staff pay rates.
- Manages on-boarding process, including, but not limited to, criminal background checks, professional license or certification verifications, scheduling pre-employment testing, preparing offer letters and on-boarding paperwork
- Administers the internal transfer process.
- Maintains communication with and keeps applicants and hiring managers informed as they move through the recruitment process.
- Develops relationships with nursing school programs to recruit talent
- Reviews and makes necessary revisions to job descriptions as required, assuring compliance with regulatory guidelines
- Works with department managers and the HR Director on the creation of new jobs
- Stays abreast of market salary rates and recommends adjustments to HR Director
- Performs human resource generalist duties as needed.
- Performs any other reasonable tasks as determined or requested.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in the area of Human Resources, Business or a generally related area.
Experience
- Minimum of two to three years’ experience recruiting required; nursing, hospital, or healthcare recruiting experience preferred
Skills and Abilities
- Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Strong computer skills required, including but not limited to a demonstrated proficiency with MS Office software, Applicant Tracking Systems, online sourcing tools, job boards, social media tools, and recruitment strategies.
- Communication skills including negotiation skills; must be persistent and persuasive
- Establish rapport and effective working relationships with applicants and hospital managers
- Prioritize multiple responsibilities and manage a large workload within tight deadlines
- Excellent problem-solving skills and self-motivation
Physical Demands:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access various departments of a given location.
