About the Job

The Specialist serves as a resource for the Safety, Operations, and Engineering team by providing administrative and logistical support for committee and other Team events and supporting Committee activities. The Specialist makes regular recommendations for elevating member services and improving efficiency across the team.

What you will do:

  • Administer the work of SOE technical committee(s), task groups, discussion groups and other O&E programs including event invitations, agenda development, and speaker outreach.
  • Provide technical support to AGA’s Best Practices Program, Plastic Pipe Data Collection (PPDC), Enhanced Peer Review Program, and other initiatives in SOE.
  • Assist with the execution of AGA programs and initiatives through data collection, analysis, and information dissemination to AGA’s membership
  • Participate in the planning of O&E workshops, conferences, roundtables, teleconferences, etc.
  • Serve as staff executive for a technical committee
  • Prepare and deliver presentations at industry workshops and meetings.
  • Represent AGA in technical conferences/workshops, meetings and other venues.
  • Participate in the production of technical and other publications such as white papers and newsletters by performing research, collecting data, and drafting abstracts and producing final publications.
  • Take notes and/or minutes for meetings.

What you will bring:

  • Excellent communications skills, both oral and written, including the ability to communicate technical issues, both orally and in writing to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to develop, organize and conduct workshops and conference calls from start to finish.
  • Ability to manage projects within established budgets and timetables.
  • Ability to develop and deliver presentations in public forums. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft programs, ChatGPT, Power BI and the use of dashboards.
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours and travel occasionally, up to 6 times annually.
  • At least two years of professional work experience in support of teams or groups
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field 
  • Knowledge of natural gas utility operations a plus

How we operate:

This role is based in Washington, DC where AGA employees currently have the flexibility to work a hybrid schedule with 3 days in the office and 2 days remotely. The employee’s team determines one day each week, and the employee determines the others. 

The Pay and Benefits:

For employees who live in the Washington, DC Metro area, the salary range for this position is $75,485 to $102,127 annually. Candidates are typically hired at a point in their salary range based on prior experience, education, and market demand for the role; employees are also compared internally to their peers.
