Job Summary
Job SummaryProvides leadership and strategic direction across the MGB Enterprise, including inpatient acute rehab facilities, inpatient hospitals, and/or outpatient sites of care within Spaulding Rehabilitation. This includes strategically aligning business units vertically and horizontally across the system in collaboration with Academic, Community, and Mass General Brigham's long-term strategies, created to drive success in both value-based and fee-for service environments. Direct operational oversight of all rehabilitation assets within the respective
market/region.
Qualifications
Essential Functions (Key Roles & Responsibilities):
· Provides strategy, leadership, direction, and administration over both value-based programs and fee for service programs within Rehabilitation Services. These programs include hospital-based acute care, inpatient rehab facilities (IRF), and/or outpatient therapies, both clinic, and hospital based. Ensures effective utilization of resources within each program to assure a right level of care and maximize total cost of care.
· Develops, adapts and executes a functional strategy to achieve business objectives within Mass General Brigham; develops short and long-term strategic plans, including growth & development, and innovation strategies, which align with key initiatives and stakeholders.
· Develops and maintains collaborative relationships both vertically and horizontally with key stakeholders including but not limited to; Spaulding Hospital Leadership, Academic Medical Center Leadership, Community Hospitals, Medical Groups, Service Lines/Institutes Population Health and
Community.
· Develops and implements operating and capital budgets and controls expenditures within approved budget objectives across the enterprise which promotes growth and decreasing total cost of care. Directly responsible for operational performance of rehabilitation assets across the enterprise.
· Partners with digital strategy, information systems, and enterprise analytics to utilize data to drive strategic partnerships across the system. Implements and maintains databases to support the collection and analysis of outcome data.
· Oversees the development and implementation of quality, safety, and signature experience programs for Rehabilitation Services through system standardization, defined care pathways.
· Oversees the development of policies and procedures to accomplish site, departmental specific and organizational initiatives to ensure full compliance with all appropriate local, state, federal and national accreditation body rules and regulations. Maintains overall responsibility for compliance with government regulatory agencies and accrediting bodies.
· Provides leadership and strategy for the implementation of new care models to achieve value and provide geographic reach across the enterprise. Oversees the development and implementation of payment models for Rehabilitation Services to achieve optimal value for the organization and the patients we serve.
· Implements and executes talent succession process to build a robust leadership team. Additionally, develops clinical talent through a progressive structure. Performs human resources responsibilities for staff, which include interviewing and selection of new employees, promotions, staff development, performance evaluations, and compensation.

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
· Must be licensed as a Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist or Speech Therapist in the State upon which you work by the applicable licensing board. Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by the American Heart Association (obtained within 90 days unless department leader
has determined it is not required).
Education Required:
· Master’s or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy or Speech Therapy required.
· Maintains continuing education requirements as mandated by applicable state professional standards.
Experience Required:
· 8 – 10+ years of experience within a complex integrated health care system.
· 5 – 7 years of experience in management of staff and budgets.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
· Comprehensive knowledge of rehabilitation services and business strategy to develop new and innovative solutions for national healthcare leaders.
· Experience within complex health systems with significant matrix/dyad reporting.
· Experience in payor relationships and managing risk relationships preferred.
· Experience in community-based managed care and case management, strategic and business development, with budgetary responsibility.
