Job Description



This position will require strong management skills paired with skilled bakery experience to lead a successful bakery team. You will be expected to operate within set ranges for labor and purchase budgets. Focus will also be on creating and setting successful and innovative merchandising displays throughout the department based on season and product offerings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Schedules staff to cover peak days/times, and within set labor budgets
  • Places appropriate product orders based on sales, store demand while staying within budget
  • Maintains current product knowledge and bakery trends
  • Properly trains, manages, and develops department staff
  • Ensures a positive and productive workflow in the bakery department which can include coordinating breaks based on employee schedule, enforcing uniform policy, and prioritizing accountability with tasks given to associates
  • Maintains work areas in a sanitized and orderly manner in compliance with state health and safety regulations and has food safety knowledge
  • Provides excellent customer service
  • Abides by Westborn Market’s time and attendance policy

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)


  • Ability to write legibly and read with comprehension at a level where it applies to this position
  • Ability to multi-task with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively through verbal, written, and electronic communication.
