Role: |
|
Responsible for working alongside and supervising the performance of Payment Solutions (PS) agents activities associated with various delinquent member accounts, including overdrafts, Visa credit cards, lines of credit, secured loans, signature loans and real estate loans. Supervises bankruptcy and E-Oscar activities and assures compliance with federal and state laws. Responsible for the collection activities of the Recovery team members to maximize recovered dollars through multiple channels including small claims, district court, 3rd party collections agencies, law firms and the actions of internal staff. |

Essential Functions & Responsibilities: |
| E | 15% | Monitor and deliver exceptional returns on charged off loans. Ensure proper reconciliation of accounts related to recoveries, including posting collection agency payments to member accounts. Responsible for reaching monthly baseline for collection. |
| E | 15% | Lead and manage the recovery process for charged-off loans, determining appropriate next steps (Small Claims, Collection Agencies, or Attorneys). |
| E | 15% | Oversee the filing of small claims cases, ensuring affidavits and legal documents are accurately prepared and submitted to courts. Manage the filing of legal documents such as garnishments, aliases, judgments, and releases at the courthouse. |
| E | 15% | Collaborates with outside counsel, process servers, and other outside entities as needed in order to coordinate member contact and comply with collections and bankruptcy laws. Develop and maintain relationships with collection agencies and attorneys, ensuring timely action on charged-off accounts. |
| E | 10% | Represent True Sky in small claims court hearings, including presenting evidence, handling continuances, and negotiating settlements or payment agreements and other recovery-related agreements with debtors. Initiate post-judgment settlements or garnishments on members' current employers or current financial institution accounts and oversee the filing of liens post judgement. |
| E | 10% | Supervise Payment Solutions staff and provide ongoing training and support to staff members. Assist with workflow optimization, set Temenos queue assignments, and supervise EOscar disputes and share charge off processes. Maintain and update policies and procedures related to Small Claims and Recovery processes. |
| E | 5% | Informs management of status of small claims at all stages of the process. Track all recovery activities, including claims, payments, judgments, garnishments, and attorney involvement, and report metrics and KPIs regularly to management. |
| E | 5% | Responsible for all Bankruptcy tasks included but not limited to proof of claims, Working with trustee and local counsel, and Repleven actions. |

Performance Measurements: |
| 1. | To maximize the collection and/or recovery of credit union assets from delinquent or charged -off loans. |
| 2. | To maintain accurate and complete records of all collections, small claims, recovery activity and procedures. |
| 3. | To ensure that all collections and small claims activities are in compliance with credit union policy and all relevant regulations. |
| 4. | To offer and to provide assistance in setting up a workout for recoveries with the member when applicable. |
| 5. | To stay current and comply with all federal and state regulations including Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and all credit union policies and procedures. |

Knowledge and Skills: |
|
Experience | Three years to five years of similar or related experience. |
|
|
Education | A high school education or GED. |
|
|
Interpersonal Skills | Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is of a personal or sensitive nature. Motivating, influencing, and/or training others is key at this level. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others. |

Other Skills | Good communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong computer skills including excel and skip tracing skills. Logical and analytical judgement. Knowledge of collection procedures, related laws and regulations, deposit programs, account ownership, and US Bankruptcy Code suggested. |
