We are searching for a Clinical Nutrition Specialist. Someone who will support the Leadership of Clinical Nutrition by providing clinical expertise and direction in the field of Clinical Nutrition throughout the Texas Children's system, coordinating the on-boarding and ongoing clinical supervision of Registered Dietitians and Diet Technicians, providing project leadership for inter and intradepartmental priorities and implementing solutions under the direction of leadership. This position will also support Texas Children's through various activities such as education on Clinical Nutrition competencies, committee involvement, and collaboration with nursing, physicians and leadership.

Qualifications:
- Master's Degree Nutrition, Dietetics, Public Health, Education, or Health Care Administration Licenses and Certifications Required
- RD - Cert-Registered Dietitian Commission on Dietetic Registration required
- LD - Licensed Dietitian Texas State Board of Examiners of Dietitians required
- one of the following:
- CDE - Cert-Cert Diabetes Educator
- CNSC - Cert-Cert NTI Support CLIN
- CSP - Cert Spec in Pedi Nutrition Experience Req Pref Experience Details X 4 years' experience in the nutrition field
Responsibilities:
- Ensures high quality Clinical Nutrition practice throughout the Texas Children’s system and identifies opportunities for improvement in patient care practices, by actively collaborating with clinical nutrition team and leadership to identify opportunities for expanded and improved clinical practice.
- Serves as an educational and clinical resource for the Clinical Nutrition team. Assesses and develops clinical competence of staff and areas of developmental need.
- Assesses, plans, and evaluates unit-based orientation. Oversees the orientation process for new hires in clinical areas.
- Participates in professional development of self and other Clinical Nutrition professionals, as well as students. Evaluates education needs and incorporates new evidence into education plan. Evaluates and maintains educational opportunities for staff and communicates opportunities to staff.
- Maintains clinical competence by participating in direct patient care activities.
