Description

Under the direction of Shipping Department Supervisor, lead the shipping team to hit safety, quality, and production number goals each day for all customer shipments.

JOB FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Understands and can successfully complete all tasks and responsibilities outlined in the Shipping Associate and Shipping and Logistics Associate job descriptions.
• Keep the shipping department clean, neat, safe, and organized continuously throughout the day.
• Follow proper documentation and safety procedures for all shipping functions as directed by your supervisor
• Be proficient in daily standard operational procedures in the shipping department and work with department supervisor and staff to continuously improve operations and reduce QC issues.
• Lead Shipping staff to hit quality and production targets and cross-train staff to ensure individual strengths are recognized and all employees are working toward our goals.
• Communicate production quantities, staff issues, concerns, and accomplishments to Supervisor throughout the shift and at the end of each day.
• Be extremely proactive and flexible in handling and troubleshooting the day-to-day operation in the Shipping Department so call outs, unexpected issues etc. can be handled with little to no disruption to production plans and targets.
• Move materials in and out of the shipping area by hand, cart, or pallet jack as needed to keep the shipping department running smoothly. Ensure that empty pallets are in place for shipping completed products, including international pallets for international shipments, and that they are placed efficiently on the shipping floor.
• Quality checking the Key Account and international shipments prior to the final step of pallet prep and wrapping
• Train and mentor new Crazy Aaron employees and temporary employees on all processes and procedures
• Set up Crazy Aaron’s paid shipments using necessary routing programs
• Commit and print website and wholesale picking sheets from Fishbowl
• Assist in completing International Paperwork such as commercial invoices, packing lists, etc.
• Work with all of the Key Account Portals to make sure that we are in compliance and reduce/eliminate controllable chargebacks.
• Assist in and cross-train in other duties as reasonably requested by Shipping Supervisor
• Assist in writing or editing department SOPs.
• Work with the Shipping Staff and Supervisor to continually find ways to improve productivity and efficiency in each task throughout the shipping department.
• Update Key account and international sheet with progress of orders (picking, waiting on routing, etc.)
• Conduct morning meetings as directed by supervisor.
• Other duties as required or assigned

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• 3-5 years of shipping or manufacturing environmental experience
• High level of energy and ability to keep others motivated
• Strong computer skills, with specific experience using Microsoft Apps, Shipstation and/or UPS and FedEx shipping software
• Experience in ERP systems
• Knowledge of logistics (routing, scheduling trucks, making BOLs)
• Knowledge of pallet builds (carton configuration and inter-locking layers)
• Knowledge and experience wrapping pallets
• Able to operate and be certified on an electric pallet jack
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills required – ability to communicate clearly and concisely
• Able to function positively in a team setting
• Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment, remain calm under pressure, and be flexible
• Abide by attendance standards set by the company
• Comfortable directing staff throughout the shipping department to hit a common goal

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Able to lift up to 50 lbs. to shoulder height
• Must be able to perform activities that include climbing, bending at waist, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, crawling, handling, feeling, and seeing.
• Must be able to stand and walk for entire shift.
• Must be able to communicate effectively
• Work environment could include slippery surfaces, noise or vibrations, mechanical hazards, electrical hazards, fumes or odors
