Morgan Steel, LLC is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Forklift Operator to join our night shift team. This position is responsible for identifying, locating, and safely loading finished steel products from the shipping lane for outbound delivery. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, accuracy in material handling, and a commitment to maintaining efficiency and safety standards in a fast-paced steel manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to move, stage, and load finished steel products for shipment.
• Identify and verify finished goods based on load sheets, tags, and shipping documentation.
• Locate and organize material within the designated shipping lanes according to priority and truck schedule.
• Load trucks in the correct sequence according to shipping order, ensuring all materials are properly secured and protected.
• Inspect all outbound material for correct size, grade, quantity, and condition prior to loading.
• Maintain constant communication with the shipping lead, drivers, and warehouse personnel to coordinate load accuracy and timing.
• Complete all required documentation (e.g., load sheets, forklift checklists, shipping logs).
• Perform daily pre-operation safety inspections on assigned forklift equipment.
• Report any material discrepancies, equipment malfunctions, or safety concerns immediately to supervision.
• Keep the shipping area clean, organized, and free of obstructions throughout the shift.
• Follow all Morgan Steel safety policies, including PPE requirements and safe lifting procedures.
• Support other warehouse operations or assigned tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of forklift experience, preferably in a steel or heavy manufacturing environment.
• Valid forklift certification or ability to obtain one through Morgan Steel training.
• Ability to read and interpret load sheets, product tags, and work orders.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, stoop, climb, and stand for extended periods.
• Strong teamwork, attention to detail, and communication skills.
• Willingness to work night shift hours and occasional overtime as required.
