Supervises daily operations & activities of service desk and technical staff.Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Manages resources and escalations in response to environmental needs. Assigns tickets and manages work flows for emergencies to maintain service levels and meet customer expectations. Reassigns tickets as needed to ensure appropriate response and coverage. Manages accountability and follow-up for tasks and escalations that cross organizations.
Coordinates technical and professional training for staff.
Maintains technical staff equipment, including requesting replacement computer hardware for Field Technicians.
Orders and maintains inventory and personal computing equipment: Prepares quotes for specialized hardware; Provides data to bill Departments as necessary for stock computers, USB drives or fees; Coordinates all department computer purchases with vendors and purchasers.
Manages communications to technical staff, Departments and Units, vendors and customers as needed; includes addressing and responding to customer complaints and requests in a professional manner.
Maintains Knowledgebase, CMDB (Configuration Management DB) and KEDB (Known Error DB) for validity. Will ensure technicians are documenting appropriately in all databases.
Resource schedule maintenance: prepares and monitors schedules to maintain service coverage during normal vacation/sick events, training days, holidays, significant events and on-call coverage. Adjust as needed when staff are on leave or when roles within the group change.
Provides hands-on support as needed; including backup phone coverage or to cover someone in the field handling a work stoppage.
Performs other duties as assigned.

$58,400.00 - $99,700.00 / AnnuallyThe salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.Questions
