Aurobindo Pharma USA, Inc. is a generic pharmaceutical manufacturer and distributor and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Aurobindo Pharma Limited, a leading generic pharmaceutical company based in India.
Aurologistics LLC is a division of Aurobindo Pharma USA, Inc., our logistics (3PL) Distribution Center in East Windsor. Aurologistics is housed in a 565,000 square foot Distribution Center comprised of an automated warehouse, distribution, manufacturing and packaging operations of Aurobindo's products.
This role is onsite at our East Windsor, New Jersey Distribution Center.
Job Overview:The position holder will be responsible for implementing a trade compliance program which allows for identifying risks, and preventing and mitigating damages related to the customs laws of countries where the company operates. In this position you will ensure that Aurologistics and affiliates adhere to customs regulations as it relates to importation and exportation of goods, smooth running of the FTZ, coordinates with third party service providers and suppliers including affiliates.
Responsibilities:- Responsible for reviewing the import documentation and transportation requirements.
- Responsible for updating and maintaining the ACE import template to ensure proper entries by brokers.
- Work with Aurobindo India Supply Chain on manufacturing site changes to update ACE data on API or packaging sites.
- Collaborate with brokers and Regulatory Affairs on USDA/FDA/CPB requests for information regarding entries that are on hold.
- Partner with APL India logistics team on project to manage/ consolidate import documentation in either OTM (Oracle Transportation Management) or other software program.
- Assess potential cost savings opportunity to bring brokerage activities in house.
- Create and update customs and regulatory policy, documentation and processes.
- Support and train staff on regulations, policies and best practices.
- Review and update customs documentation, including declarations and coding.
- Cultivate relations with government and customs entities to encourage communication.
- Lead, evaluate and make recommendations based on audits and identified risks.
- Responsible for expediting urgent export samples for customer complaints or FDA sample requests.
In order to control the actions taken by these third parties, particularly with regard to trade activities, the position holder should implement agreements by engaging the legal department in the implementation of the customs compliance program, since many measures involve the drafting of legal documents.
- Audit US Customs entry files for confirmation of all necessary repository documentation and advise the appropriate parties of discrepancies and pending resolutions.
- Provide comprehensive oversight of people, processes and systems for a single site, or across multiple sites/countries.
- Manage relationships with parent company logistics team in India, USA and other partners, CMOs, in addition engage the different departments of the company that may have any activity related to import and export operations such as demand planning, Sales, Finance, Purchasing, Logistics and Legal.
- Must research all applicable regulations to import and export operations, including the ones applicable to the relevant sector or product in particular.
- Research the domestic laws and regulations of the country of origin of the goods, of the country of destination of the goods, of the country where the company is located (in case of extraterritorial application), and also international rules applicable to the matter.
- Retrieve any missing necessary documentation from external and/or internal resources including Customhouse brokerages to meet record retention compliance.
- Maintain record keeping for US import files including Import tracker and any required repository filing.
- Assist Customs & Compliance and Logistics Services teams as needed for any repository US import documentation, files etc.
- Collate, file and archive any and all hard copy documentation for repository where applicable, ensuring that all necessary actions and tasks have been completed.

- Develop and maintain a Global Trade Compliance knowledgebase to support import/export for the supply chain function
- Establish standard processes/SOPs and clarifying and defining roles and responsibilities in cross-functional or departmental role under four key responsibilities - Responsible, Accountable, Consulted, and Informed (RACI) for each country
- Review contracts being put in place with service providers to ensure consistency and alignment to the knowledgebase
- Establish Tariff Classification for items being procured and supplied by Aurobindo USA group
- Provide Guidance for Value for Customs Purposes (VCP) for items supplied
- Manage duty and VAT, including reclaim
- Knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations and related experience
- Experience in materials management systems
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor degree in business, science or related field
- 10+ years' supply chain experience including managing projects within pharmaceutical or related industry
- Certification in Purchasing management (ISM/CPM) and Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) preferred
