PROGRAM SUMMARY
Civic Works’ Greening Programs encompass the Community Landscape Program, Clean Corps Program, Food and Farm Program, and Community Canopy Program. These teams work together to create a greener, cleaner Baltimore City and to promote Civic Works’ mission to strengthen communities and promote equity for people of all ages through education, skills development, and community service.
Position Summary
The Greening Coordinator will work closely with the Greening Programs to promote inter-program collaboration and find synergistic opportunities among them. The Greening Coordinator will support the training and community engagement across the Greening Programs. The Greening Coordinator will also conduct outreach and educational programming for our AmeriCorps members and the community, pulling from the knowledge of a wide breadth of sources. They will also support the Greening Programs through every step of several concurrent projects at a time.
Job Responsibilities
- Maintain a strong understanding of how all of the Greening Programs operate to coordinate the best use of resources and effort through 1-on-1, team, and program meetings.
- Assist with the planning and implementation of projects, including site visits, research, development, and fieldwork.
- Schedule, plan, and conduct educational and outreach programming, including field trips, certifications, demonstrations, workshops, and service learning experiences.
- Engage in strategic planning for Greening Programs.
- Provide clerical and administrative support for Program Managers, such as recordkeeping, tracking invoices and receipts, ordering supplies, etc.
- Contribute content to the Civic Works’ newsletters and social media platforms.
- Represent Civic Works at community, local, and regional levels as necessary.
- Collaborate with Program Managers for additional duties as necessary.
- Participate in Civic Works’ wide activities, including meetings, training, Day of Service, etc.
Qualifications
Skills And Abilities
- Experience and comfortable working independently as well as part of a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Demonstrated creative problem-solving experience
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Passionate about environmental sustainability
- Experience with community engagement is a plus
- General computer proficiency as well as proficiency in Google Workspace
- Driver’s license required (a driving record will be requested as well)
- Drug test and a criminal background check required
- Experience in data tracking and community engagement is a plus
- Volunteer experience and/or AmeriCorps service a plus
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree is preferred.
- At least 1-2 years of administrative experience.
- At least 1 year of nonprofit experience preferred.
