About this position: 

The Special & Business Accounts Representative I is responsible for the full administration and oversight of the Business and Special Accounts programs. This role provides expert knowledge and support to both members and internal staff, ensuring proper documentation, accurate processing, and full compliance with regulatory and institutional policies. The representative plays a key role in educating and guiding staff at all levels across the organization to maintain high standards of service and compliance for these specialized account types. In addition to account processing and problem resolution, this position mentors and assists in training staff and collaborates on projects that enhance operational efficiency and compliance.

What you’ll do: 

  • Account Administration & Member Support 
    •    Administer all aspects of the Business and Special Accounts programs, including the processing of new accounts, special account types, and death claims. 
    •    Respond to inquiries from members and employees, providing expert knowledge and resolving issues with professionalism and diplomacy. 
    •    Deliver accurate guidance on account services, documentation requirements, and LMCU’s account management procedures.
  • Compliance & Transaction Oversight 
    •    Manage and process all related transactions, including incoming mail/email requests, research, follow-up, error resolution, and death settlements. 
    •    Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations, maintaining proper record retention and implementing updates as legislative changes occur. 
    •    Audit branch-submitted documentation for accuracy and completeness; provide corrective feedback and procedural support as needed.
  • Technology & Information Management 
    •    Utilize state and regulatory websites such as LARA and Sunbiz to verify and manage account documentation. 
    •    Partner with internal teams to update and maintain accurate and current compliance resources on the employee intranet.
  • Training & Mentoring 
    •    Assist in the training and mentoring of Special & Business Accounts Representative I team members. 
    •    Support development and delivery of training content for credit union programs, including onboarding for Head Tellers and Member Service Representatives (MSRs).
  • Reporting & Specialized Processing 
    •    Process monthly reports related to account documentation. 
    •    Calculate and disburse IOTA (Interest on Trust Accounts) and IOLTA (Interest on Lawyers’ Trust Accounts) interest payments to designated bar foundations.

What You’ll Bring:

  • A minimum of one year up to three years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience. Prior experience working in a financial institution is preferred.
  • High school degree or equivalent is required.
  • A significant level of trust, credibility and diplomacy is required. In-depth dialogues, conversations and explanations with customers, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors can be of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature. Communications may involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance.
