Essential Job Responsibilities/Expectations

Strategic Leadership

  • Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in accordance with our Service Excellence Standards and Core Values.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for hospital-based physician services.
  • Align physician operations with hospital goals, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with hospital executives, department chairs, and clinical leaders to optimize service delivery. 

Operational Oversight

  • Manage day-to-day operations of employed physicians and advanced practice clinicians (APCs).
  • Oversee staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation across departments such as emergency medicine, anesthesiology, and hospitalist programs.
  • Ensure compliance with clinical protocols, billing practices, and documentation standards.

Provider Relations

  • Foster strong relationships with employed providers.
  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, and retention efforts for hospital-based physicians.
  • Serve as a liaison between medical staff and hospital administration.

Financial Management

  • Develop and manage budgets for physician services.
  • Analyze financial performance and implement cost-control measures.
  • Negotiate contracts and compensation models for providers.

Job Requirements

Qualifications/Education/Training:

  • B.S. Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration or related field.
  • MBA preferred.
  • CMPE preferred.
  • Five to seven years hands-on experience in a Leadership or consulting position in operations. Hospital based or private practice experience. Demonstrated ability to drive performance improvement. Demonstrated knowledge of Best Practice
  • Standards implementation. Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
