Essential Job Responsibilities/Expectations
Strategic Leadership
- Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in accordance with our Service Excellence Standards and Core Values.
- Develop and implement strategic plans for hospital-based physician services.
- Align physician operations with hospital goals, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with hospital executives, department chairs, and clinical leaders to optimize service delivery.
Operational Oversight
- Manage day-to-day operations of employed physicians and advanced practice clinicians (APCs).
- Oversee staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation across departments such as emergency medicine, anesthesiology, and hospitalist programs.
- Ensure compliance with clinical protocols, billing practices, and documentation standards.
Provider Relations
- Foster strong relationships with employed providers.
- Lead recruitment, onboarding, and retention efforts for hospital-based physicians.
- Serve as a liaison between medical staff and hospital administration.
Financial Management
- Develop and manage budgets for physician services.
- Analyze financial performance and implement cost-control measures.
- Negotiate contracts and compensation models for providers.
Job Requirements
Qualifications/Education/Training:
- B.S. Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration or related field.
- MBA preferred.
- CMPE preferred.
- Five to seven years hands-on experience in a Leadership or consulting position in operations. Hospital based or private practice experience. Demonstrated ability to drive performance improvement. Demonstrated knowledge of Best Practice
- Standards implementation. Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
