Job Description:
Microchip Technology Inc. has a Principal Engineer-Test opening based in our Austin, TX office. We are seeking a self-motivated Principal Test Engineer for the Timing and Communications Group (TCG). The successful candidate will develop ATE test programs for MEMS based Clock Generation and Oscillator products, ranging from new product development, tester platform transfers, and manufacturing support.
Responsibilities:
ATE test program development of new MEMS based timing products from defining costs and schedules to program generation
Defining ATE test hardware schematics and overseeing board layout
ATE transfers onto new test platforms
Involved in all areas of test development from initial specification through manufacturing and customer support
Requirements/Qualifications:
BSEE (MSEE preferred) or equivalent
10 years’ experience with ATE test development, V93K Smart Scale
Strong in C and C++ programming languages, Unix/Linux shell usage
Knowledge of PCB structures and development
Must have ability to set and meet goals
Self-motivated, able to work independently, excellent communication and presentation skills, and ability to excel in a multi-disciplinary team environment across multiple locations
Strong analytical, and problem-solving skills
Understanding of semiconductor test methods
Preferred Qualifications:
MSEE or equivalent preferred
Experience with V93K Smart Scale ATE tester preferred
Knowledge of clock synthesizers and oscillator products a plus
