Join Our Team!

We have an immediate need for three (3) part – time Desk Attendant(s) to join our team at Schaffer Heights, one of United Group’s professionally managed 62+ active adult housing communities located in Schenectady, NY.  To learn more about our property, please visit: https://www.schafferheights.com

  • Turns on/off the answer service and promptly retrieves all messages
  • Greets prospective and existing residents and assists them
  • Answers all phone calls/takes messages and/or directs to the correct department
  • Monitors the daily signup sheets and assists in updating them
  • Assists office with mailing out flyers and related collateral
  • In the absence of Management, opens model apartment
  • Assist residents with various needs – valet parking, key entry, etc.
  • Keeps work areas clean, orderly, and safe 
  • Completes daily log of property activity
  • Patrols all amenity areas and check the parking lot for any activity
  • Responsible for responding to resident’s request and emergencies
  • Checks all lighting and any maintenance issues that need to be addressed; report to Maintenance
  • Notifies property manager/on-call maintenance of all problems and potential issues
Job Overview + Requirements
  • Job Type: Desk Attendant, non – exempt - $15.50 per hour. 
  • Work Hours: Days/Hours vary depending on candidate/needs of the property.  Weekends & overnights are required. 
  • Physical Requirements: walking, standing, light lifting and carrying
  • Required Education: High School Education or equivalent is required
  • Required Experience: Experience working in a customer service setting, preferably property management. Strong communication skills are required. 
  • Qualities: Demonstrates integrity on personal and professional level; Willingness to work respectfully with people of diverse backgrounds required; Ability to solve problems involving residents, personnel, finances, equipment failure, emergency situations, etc.; Good work and safety habits
