This is a benefited, full time (72 hours every 2 weeks) position working 12-hr day shifts from 8am-8:30pm on varied days each week. Weekends and holidays are required. Located at Scripps Clinic - Rancho Bernardo.

What you'll do:
- Providing assistance with splinting, EKGs, POC, patient transport and patient care.
- Facilitates patient throughput and flow, ensuring timely turnover of rooms, quality measures and increased patient safety and satisfaction.
- Rooming patients, checking vitals, assisting with procedures
- Clinic prep assisting with Provider specific protocols
- Maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment
- Organizes and performs patient care services that support the physician’s practice
- Relaying instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person
- Collecting patient data in person and by phone
- Documenting patient concerns, messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's review
- Administering medications specifically directed by the physician
- Scheduling of appointments and procedures
- Complete and accurate message taking
Routing messages to the appropriate area for direction
- Setting up of cases in EPIC plus basic registration and updating of demographics

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:
- Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program, or Medical Assistance Certification, or a minimum of two years of experience as a military corpsman
Required Certification/Registration:
- BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA)
Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:
- One year of experience as a MA in an outpatient setting
- Acute care experience
