Who We’re Looking For
Quantum Space is redefining spacecraft agility and integration through precision-built, high-performance hardware. We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Harness Technician to lead the fabrication, testing, and validation of flight and ground electrical harnesses for our next-generation spacecraft.

You will play a critical role in enabling safe, reliable interconnects across our electrical, propulsion, and communication systems. This is a hands-on role for a technician with deep experience in high-reliability harness manufacturing, testing, and build planning for complex flight hardware.

Where You’ll Make an Impact

  • Fabricate and test electrical harness assemblies for flight and ground systems in accordance with spaceflight standards and quality specifications
  • Build harnesses using MIL-STD D-Sub, Micro-D, and M38999 connectors with soldered, crimped, and spliced terminations
  • Collaborate with electrical, harness, and integration engineers to review drawings, schematics, BoMs, and work instructions for manufacturability
  • Lead development of test and inspection processes, including tooling, documentation, equipment selection, and technician training
  • Develop and refine process specs, work orders, and build templates for repeatable flight production
  • Perform hands-on inspections using pin retention testers, HiPot testers, and other diagnostics tools
  • Identify and resolve non-conformances through root cause analysis and corrective/preventative actions
  • Create and maintain build schedules aligned with overall spacecraft development milestones
  • Support sourcing of flight parts, materials inventory, and harness lab/workspace organization

What It Takes

  • Minimum 5 years of experience building and testing electrical harness assemblies for spaceflight programs
  • Expertise with fabrication of harnesses using MIL-STD-grade connectors and backshells
  • Fluent with aerospace wire prep, stripping, crimping (manual and pneumatic), splicing, and backshell
torquing processes per component specifications and harness drawing instructions

  • Proficient with test equipment: digital multimeters, HiPot testers, oscilloscopes, power supplies, pin retention tools, etc.
  • Strong understanding of build documentation and harness design review workflows
  • Comfortable reading and interpreting schematics, harness drawings, and BoMs
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and capable of managing harness build activities with minimal supervision
  • Certified to NASA-STD-8739.4 for harness assembly

Nice-to-Have Experience

  • Instructor-level certification to NASA-STD-8739.4
  • IPC/WHMA-A-620, J-STD-001, or IPC-7711/7721 certifications
  • Experience supporting rework/debug of dense PCBAs (0402, fine-pitch ICs)
  • Familiarity with spacecraft data buses and interfaces (RS422/RS485, SpaceWire, Ethernet, SERDES, LVDS, CAN, Discrete IO, Cameralink)
  • Experience managing or mentoring teams of technicians in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with ESD-safe handling procedures and cleanroom protocols
  • Background supporting harness fabrication under AS9100D or similar QMS environments

What You’ll Get

  • Ownership – Drive harness build quality and standards for cutting-edge spacecraft
  • Innovation – Influence how electrical systems are integrated for maximum performance and reliability
  • Impact – Play a critical role in ensuring mission success through hands-on quality and craftsmanship
  • Growth – Be part of a mission-driven, technically elite environment with room to expand and lead
  • Compensation – Competitive salary, equity, and comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, generous leave, FSA, 401(k) matching, and equity sharing
