Salary $34.85 per hour, Benefits Eligible
Job Summary: The Information Systems Specialist works cooperatively with administrators, staff, parents, and vendors to ensure the district's critical information technology systems function efficiently and securely. This role requires a strong blend of technical expertise, data management proficiency, and excellent customer service skills to support all internal users. The Specialist is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and integrating systems ranging from the SIS (PowerSchool preferred) and online rostering (Clever) to financial, assessment, and communication platforms, ultimately ensuring seamless data flow and reliable access for all administrative and instructional functions.
QUALIFICATIONS: To successfully perform this position, a person must be able to perform each primary duty satisfactorily. The qualification requirements listed below represent minimum levels of educational achievement, training, skills, and/or ability necessary.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Educational Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 3+ years of experience with educational technology, SIS (PowerSchool preferred), and help desk support in a school environment.
- Familiarity with online rostering tools like Clever, as well as troubleshooting for educational platforms.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize requests.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting, technical support, and data management
- Must successfully complete and maintain compliance with all federal and state background and criminal record check requirements.
- Candidate must adhere to all local, state, federal, and school code requirements for employment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Employee must have the ability to perform the following essential functions on a timely basis with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Serves as the system administrator for PowerSchool SIS.
- Manages and maintains other key district information systems and applications.
- Acts as the primary point of contact for third-party software vendors
- Provides support in the migration to new or upgraded system software.
- Creates and maintains integrations between the student information system and third-party systems
- Maintain, upgrade, and troubleshoot administrative systems such as student information systems, financial applications, cafeteria point of sale, maintenance work order system, etc.
- Configures and provides technical support for online assessment platforms
- Monitors software and system status pages for outages and performance issues
- Manages and maintains Clever rostering and configuration for online applications (e.g., Google Classroom, McGraw-Hill, HMH) and ensures data integrity
- Oversee Vanco RevTrak payment integration, providing support for fee transactions
- Oversees eCollect forms, troubleshoots form functionality, and ensures timely updates.
- Attends system training sessions and stays up to date on new features in district software
- Monitors and maintains integrations with district communication systems
- Actively monitors publisher status updates and implements any necessary adjustments to online platform configurations.
- Communicates with third-party vendors to address issues, resolve conflicts, and maintain system integration for online learning apps.
- Assists in training sessions and provides user support for school technology initiatives.
- Responds to help desk tickets and updates users on ticket progress.
- Recommends solutions to specific technologically related issues.
- Regular and consistent attendance.
