Housekeeping/Maintenance Assistant

Tustin, Ca

Full Time: M-F 8am-4:30pm

$20-$21/Hr

Position Summary:
The Housekeeping/Maintenance Assistant plays a key role in ensuring the facility remains clean, safe, and well-maintained for residents, staff, and visitors. This position supports both the Housekeeping and Maintenance Departments by performing daily cleaning tasks, assisting with facility repairs, and ensuring compliance with all applicable standards and regulations. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining a comfortable and welcoming environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Housekeeping Responsibilities:
  • Perform daily cleaning and sanitation of resident rooms, common areas, offices, and restrooms.
  • Follow established cleaning schedules and departmental procedures.
  • Handle cleaning equipment, chemicals, and supplies safely and according to manufacturer guidelines.
  • Coordinate cleaning activities with nursing staff to minimize disruptions to residents.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free environment throughout the facility.
  • Report maintenance issues or safety concerns promptly to the supervisor.
Maintenance Responsibilities:
  • Assist with routine maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance tasks throughout the facility.
  • Support upkeep of building systems, equipment, and grounds.
  • Follow maintenance schedules and ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.
  • Coordinate with nursing services when performing maintenance in resident areas.
  • Report all incidents, accidents, or equipment malfunctions promptly.
  • Maintain tools, supplies, and work areas in good condition.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous housekeeping or maintenance experience preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact courteously with residents, staff, and visitors.
  • Must adhere to all safety procedures and use protective equipment as required.
  • Physical ability to lift, move, and transport equipment or materials as needed.
