Tool & Cutter Assistant

1st Shift, 6:30AM – 3:00PM, Monday – Friday

Hourly Rate $20 - $27 DOE

Ability to work overtime during the week and Saturdays as needed

RESPONSIBILITY:

JOB DUTIES: 

• To sharpen all cutting and forming tools necessary for various manufacturing operations.
• Assist Tool Room with qualification and final grind requirements.
• Interface with Engineering, Manufacturing, EDM, Tool Room, and Machine Operators on optimum methods for producing cutting and forming tools for manufacturing.
• Maintain all equipment in the area.
• Order all supplies that are required including grinding wheels, cleaners, drills, taps, form tool blanks, and other consumable tooling and parts.

EDUCATION & SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and orally.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Minimum three (3) years machine shop (grinding) experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of machine speeds and feeds preferred.
• Strong mechanical and mathematical aptitude.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Must have own tools to assist in the completion of necessary functions.
• Ability to lift, push, pull &/or carry up to 20 pounds.
• Ability to frequently stand and perform visual activity.
