PAYROLL ADMINISTRATOR
First Urology is seeking a Payroll Administrator. We are seeking a motivated individual that has a knack for numbers and a flair for details to join our payroll department. As a Payroll Administrator, you will be responsible for accurately processing and managing the organization's payroll. Your role will involve calculating wages, preparing and distributing payroll checks, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Additionally, you will maintain employee records, handle payroll inquiries, maintain retirement accounts, and collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth payroll operations. This position will work closely with other financial personnel to account for wage garnishments, employment taxes and retirement accounts within each employee’s paycheck. Responsibilities:
1. Payroll Processing:
- Calculate employee wages, deductions, and bonuses accurately.
- Review timesheets, attendance records, and other relevant documents to ensure accuracy.
- Process payroll transactions in a timely manner, including new hires, terminations, and changes in pay rates.
- Validate payroll data to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
2. Payroll Administration:
- Maintain and update employee payroll records and information.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters promptly and professionally.
- Generate and distribute paychecks or electronic funds transfers (EFTs) to employees.
- Ensure payroll-related taxes, benefits, and deductions are processed accurately and on time.
- Track employee absences through the payroll software and record details about vacation, sick leave, jury duty, and extended leaves of absence
3. Compliance and Reporting:
- Stay updated on federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
- Assist with audits and provide payroll-related documentation as needed.
- Collaborate with the finance and HR departments to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
4. Systems Management:
- Utilize payroll software/systems to process payroll and maintain employee records.
- Troubleshoot issues related to payroll systems and processes.
- Recommend and implement improvements to streamline payroll procedures and enhance efficiency.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred but not required.
• 2 years of experience processing end to end Payroll (Required).
• Strong understanding of payroll principles, practices, and regulations.
• Proficiency in payroll software/systems (e.g., ADP, Paycom, Paycor).
• Understanding of employment and payroll taxes.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and calculations.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience with multi-state payroll processing.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Experience with Excel or other spreadsheet software for data analysis and reporting.
Working Conditions: The position of Payroll Administrator operates in an office environment. Standard office hours may apply, with occasional overtime during peak periods such as payroll processing deadlines or audit preparations.
