A wonderful family located near Cora Thomas Elementary is seeking an attentive, and engaging babysitter to provide occasional backup care for their 2-year-old. The ideal candidate will prioritize hygiene, safety, and social interaction during short care windows and be proactive in supporting the child’s daily needs. She is allergic to cashews, hazelnut, almonds and avocado. These foods should be avoided. There is an older cat in the home - minimal pet care needed.
Schedule: Varies as needed, mostly a few hours at a time

Responsibilities
- Engage child in age-appropriate and educational play
- Provide snacks and encourage regular hydration and eating
- Perform light cleaning related to the child (e.g. dishes, tidying toys)
- Ensure diapers are changed frequently to prevent rash
- Apply eczema ointment and monitor skin scratching as needed
- Encourage handwashing and overall hygiene
- Avoid kissing on the face, as per family preference
Requirements
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Minimum of 2 years of paid professional childcare experience
- CPR certified, or willingness to become certified
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Able to provide 2 childcare-related references from a professional setting
- Able to successfully pass background and social media screening
- Up-to-date on vaccinations (including COVID, flu, HPV)
Compensation
This position pays $30 per hour - no guaranteed hours
