Job Title: Surgery Intern (Fixed Term)

Salary: £38,100 per annum

Location: North Downs Specialist Referrals, Bletchingley, Surrey.

Job Type: Fixed term for 12 months

Hours: Full-time – 40 hours per week including 1:6 weekends

We have an exciting opportunity for a surgical intern to join the team for a 1-year fixed-term position starting in February 2026.

What we’re looking for

Potential candidates should have completed a 1 year rotating internship. The post would be ideal preparation for an application of a surgical residency.

Candidates are expected to have good communication skills and excellent written and spoken English.

Key responsibilities

Responsibilities would include taking part in case management, surgical procedures, re-examination clinics, imaging rounds, seminars and journal clubs. There will be opportunities to participate in clinical research and the expectation would be to present and submit a paper by the end of the internship. Candidates would be expected to take part in a weekend rota, but will be fully supervised by a senior surgery clinician at all times.

The surgery department consists of 5 boarded ECVS specialists and two ECVS residency-trained surgeon.

NDSR is a multi-disciplinary specialist hospital located in the beautiful Surrey hills 40 minutes from central London.
