Operator-Block Press - Columbus, NE

Reports To: Plant Management

Primary Purpose:
This position is primarily responsible for efficiently operating and executing tasks associated with block press production to consistently produce finished product which meets quality standards and customer expectation.

Expected Functions:

• Operate block press efficiently to minimize costs and downtime while maximizing throughput
• Achieve block quality standards through process understanding and operation
• Accurate completion of batch processing documentation and production records
• Execute all duties in a safe manner
• Analyze available data on a daily basis and make informed decisions accordingly
• Assist other departments as requested
• Perform other tasks as assigned by management

Essential Skills

• Set up and adjust press for efficient and quality production of blocks
• Maintain press in good working order (grease, oil levels and appropriately cleaned)
• Conduct appropriate quality control test
• Maintain accurate block press log
• Complete other duties as assigned
• Keep work area clean
• Oracle/Word knowledge is a plus but not required
• Excellent verbal and written skills
• Flexible and willing/able to multi-task
• Punctual, accurate, and professional

Hours

• Monday – Friday, variable hours (shift work) as business demands
• Overtime is not expected but could be necessary on occasion

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
