Job Summary 
The Tennis Floor Rate is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment on the tennis floor. Your primary duties will include monitoring tennis equipment usage, ensuring proper sanitation protocols are followed, and providing assistance to members and guests as needed. In this role, you will proactively engage with members, offering guidance on tennis equipment usage and tennis techniques while promoting a positive atmosphere within the facility. Your role is essential in fostering a supportive community and ensuring that all members enjoy a safe and effective workout experience. 

Reporting Structure 
    •     Reports to the Head Tennis/Pickleball Professional or Racquet Sports Director 

Day to Day
•    Engage with members and guests by consistently using their names to foster a personalized experience. 
•    Build authentic relationships with members, ensuring a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all. 
•    Promote club activities and racquet programs, encouraging member involvement to enhance engagement and community spirit. 
•    Help conduct member orientations for racquet facilities, demonstrating proper equipment usage and identifying opportunities for personal training or private lessons. 
•    Adhere to established cleaning protocols, safety guidelines, and operational standards to ensure a safe and hygienic racquet environment. 
•    Conduct routine inspections of racquet equipment to ensure it is in optimal condition, promptly reporting any maintenance needs. 

Additional Duties 
•    Due to the dynamic nature of the club, employees are expected to assist others as needed and take on additional tasks as assigned by management.   
•    Follow all company, club, and department policies, procedures, and instructions.  
•    Maintain a high level of professionalism and a commitment to excellence in interactions with members, colleagues, and staff. 
•    Follow safe working practices, ensuring compliance with safety guidelines and encouraging others to do the same. 
•    Take the initiative in personal and professional growth and maintain any required certifications relevant to your role. 
•    Address and resolve challenges using available resources, working with regional and corporate teams to support club operations. 
•    Attend daily briefings and actively engage in required activities to stay informed and contribute to the team’s success. 


About You
Required 
•    High school diploma or equivalent. 
•    A minimum of 1 year of experience as a tennis professional and/or in a tennis or recreational setting. 
•    Certification in CPR, First Aid, and AED within the last 6 months as well as being a certified tennis instructor with USPTA or PTR. 
Preferred 
•    A college degree in health, tennis, racquet sports, or a related field. 
•    Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively educate and motivate clients. 
•    Ability to assess individual tennis levels and develop tailored tennis programs. 

Physical Requirements 
•    Frequent sitting, standing, walking, and driving. 
•    Occasional exposure to temperature changes, dust, fumes, or gases. 
•    Squatting, kneeling, reaching, grasping, twisting, and bending. 
•    Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 100 lbs. on occasion. 
•    Talking, hearing, and seeing. 

Primary Tools/Equipment 
•    Racket (1 lbs.) 
•    Ball Machine (25 lbs.) 
•    Racquet Balls (1 lbs.) 
•    Cones and markers (1 lbs.) 
•    Targets (1 lbs.) 
•    Teaching aids 

Work Schedule 
•    Adherence to attendance requirements as outlined in the weekly schedule. 
•    Flexibility to work additional hours as needed to meet position deadlines. 
•    Availability to work on weekends and/or holidays as required.
