Role Overview
The Fabrication - Pipe Threader is responsible for creating finished products based on drawings and material cut lists provided by the Manufacturing Project Manager.
Responsibilities
A Threader is a machine operator responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining equipment that creates threads on materials such as pipe, bolts, or textiles. The exact duties depend on the industry, but the role consistently involves precision, mechanical skill, and adherence to safety protocols.?
Pipe Threader
A Pipe Threader operates machines (such as Landis threading machines) that cut or form threads on metal pipes, following detailed production specifications.
Tasks include:
- Measuring, cutting, and threading pipes based on work orders
- Ensuring machine settings align with required thread sizes
- Inspecting pipes for quality and compliance
- Cleaning and maintaining threading machinery
- Following plant safety and operational procedures
Physical requirements often include standing for long periods, lifting pipe sections, and working with mechanical tools or lubricants.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- A minimum of 1-year forklift experience required.
- Basic knowledge in the area of machinery, tools, and fabrication.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Solid ability to solve problems.
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
- Proven experience with quality control analysis
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a can-do attitude.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
- Strong communications skills (verbal and written) with ability to create strong relationships.
- Must have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs., bend, twist, stand for long periods of time, climb, push, pull, carry, reach for items, and endure frequent exposure to outside weather conditions.
- Ability to pass background check, MVR check, and drug test where required.
