POSITION TITLE: Assistant Percussion Instructor

CLASSIFICATION: Stipend

EMPLOYMENT TERMS: Days and hours to be arranged, with salary according to current schedule.

REPORTS TO:  Principal or Designee

General Description

Assistant Percussion Instructor falls under the direct supervision of the High School Band Director. The Assistant Percussion Instructor works directly with the band director to develop and maintain a successful percussion program, both as an element of the marching band, and as a separate unit in the winter Indoor Percussion season.

Responsibilities

1. Work with students .
2. Collaborate with the band director to write and design effective performance shows.
3. Assists with the writing and arranging percussion music.
4. Assists with leading effective rehearsals in a positive, professional environment, focusing on equality, engagement, and excellence.
5. Attend all performances and competitions.
6. Interacts with students, parents, and other instructors in a professional manner.
7. Assists with the management percussion equipment 

Desired Qualifications

1. Experience performing and teaching percussion instruments
2. Experience performing and/or teaching in a competitive circuit.
3. Flexibility in meeting the needs of students from a variety of backgrounds and abilities.
4. Strong communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
