The mission of the USC Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work is to improve the well-being of vulnerable individuals and communities, advance social and economic justice, and eradicate pressing societal problems in complex and culturally diverse urban environments throughout Southern California, the nation, and the world. The USC Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work, the Office of Community and Clinical Programs is seeking to hire a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with expertise in child and adolescent wellness, health, and mental health to join its Refugee Well Los Angeles (RWLA) team. RWLA is a grant program funded by the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR), Support for Trauma Affected Refugees (STAR) Program. LCSW will provide comprehensive psychosocial and mental health assessment, evidence based interventions to assist patients and families coping with presenting symptoms and problems, crisis intervention, psychoeducation, case management, and discharge planning. Bilingual strongly preferred (Russian, Ukranian, Spanish, Farsi and/or Arabic).

This position is for a part-time (65% effort), fixed-term, grant-funded appointment through September 29, 2026.

  • Conducts initial assessment of all new patients; interviews and evaluates patients and family members. Identifies factors which may interfere with obtaining maximum benefits from treatment.
  • Develops and implements patient management plans, including the coordination of referrals to specialty and social services, the recording of progress notes and the provision of continuity of care.
  • Participates in monitoring and evaluating the quality and appropriateness of patient care.
  • Provides appropriate therapeutic services to assist patients and families in coping with presenting symptoms and problems.
  • Participates on interdisciplinary treatment team.
  • Maintains records and makes written and oral reports concerning patient care, counseling and therapeutic activities. Prepares reports and other documents concerning patients.
  • Maintains compliance with established university and department policies and procedures, quality assurance, safety, environmental, infection control and complies with requirements of accreditation and regulatory agencies.
  • Conducts specialized in-service training in area of expertise for various audiences.
  • Attends and participates in staff development programs, department related conferences and administrative meetings.
  • Establishes and maintains appropriate network of professional contacts. Maintains currency with professional organizations and publications. Attends and participates in meetings, conferences, etc. Represents university and/or unit as assigned.
  • Provides supervision for unlicensed staff, interns, and volunteers
  • Serves as a Campus Security Authority (CSA) and mandatory reporter under the Clergy Act based on university responsibilities. Has responsibility and is required to receive reports of crimes or criminal incidents from victims of crimes and/or third parties; notifies Department of Public Safety immediately of any reported serious crime or criminal incidents that indicates the presence of an ongoing threat to the university community; and notifies the Clery Compliance Coordinator in the Department of Public Safety.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. The University reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.

Minimum Education:

  • Master's degree

Minimum Experience:

  • 2 years

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's degree from accredited school of social work. Current California State License in Clinical Social Work. 
  • Expertise in child and adolescent wellness, health, and mental health

Compensation: The annual base range for this position is $78,000. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.

Minimum Education: Master's degree Or Master's degree Social Work
Minimum Licenses: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or LCSW eligible.

Minimum Experience: 2 years

Minimum Skills: Experience in social work. Experience in providing professional social work services to patients and their families.
