The Columbia Presbyterian Community is seeking a compassionate and creative Memory Support Life Enrichment Coordinator to plan and lead engaging, person-centered activities for residents in our Memory Support community. This role uses the Montessori approach to support our residents and promote holistic well-being through meaningful, daily engagement.
Duties included but not limited to:
- Plan, organize, and lead engaging Memory Support activities promoting the seven dimensions of wellness (physical, intellectual, social, spiritual, emotional, environmental, vocational)
- Implement Montessori-based programming for residents with dementia and cognitive impairments
- Coordinate and deliver activities during weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Personalize activity programming based on resident needs, interests, and input from families
- Support new resident orientation and ensure a smooth transition into the household
- Understand Montessori approach and assume leadership role in teaching, coaching, and modeling approach
- Manage inventory of activity supplies and track monthly budget spending
- Drive the community bus for resident outings and serve as backup driver as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Human Services, Social Science, Behavioral Science, or other related field.
- Certified Dementia Practitioner credential, or similar credential in dementia care.
- At least 2 years’ experience in activities in a Memory Support community
- Valid South Carolina driver’s license.
