JOB SUMMARY

The Depot Clerk will perform the daily activities required in the operation of the transit systems stations.



Position Duties

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Manages the assignment of operating and supervisory staff and resources to ensure that service objectives are achieved within budgetary constraints; conducts division shake-ups and bidding procedures
  • Schedules and dispatches drivers
  • Maintains records, logs and schedules of the calls received regarding driver schedules/attendance and assigning drivers routes
  • Maintains database of operator DOT medical cards and CDLs
  • Inspection of driver appearance prior to shift
  • Prepare reports on all activities occurring during their shifts
  • Direct drivers through radio contact
  • Prepare daily operational reports
  • Maintains appropriate staffing levels for service 
  • Maintain familiarity with current labor agreements and DOT regulations
  • Maintain the annual assignment board

Minimum Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • A high school graduate or GED, or experience and training to the equivalent 
  • Or A minimum of three (3) years recent experience directly related to the operations of the Transit System

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Normal office environment 
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer

This is a designated Safety Sensitive Position under RTA Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace Policy [“Non-USDOT”]. Drug and Alcohol Testing is conducted under RTA testing authority in accordance with Federal Transit Administration (FTA) regulations.

Other Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate well with operators, management, and the public
  • Ability to know and apply the labor contract and peg system to the daily operation of the station
