Responsibilities
- Contribute to an integrated communications strategy that supports Impulse’s brand, business objectives, and thought leadership positioning
- Collaborate closely with marketing, engineering, business development, government relations, recruiting, HR, mission management, and product teams to align storytelling across all touchpoints
- Coordinate and maintain editorial calendar across communications verticals covering launches, milestones, partnerships, and internal initiatives
- Recommend and maintain communication protocols for sensitive or high-visibility situations, ensuring preparedness and consistency in response across teams
- Draft industry-leading content across press releases, blogs, website content, social updates/posts, internal communications, ensuring all written communications reflect Impulse’s brand voice
- Partner with engineering, business development, government relations, product, and legal teams to ensure clarity, accuracy, and compliance
- Draft custom messaging and content needs for events and customer engagement
- Collaborate with PR agency, delivering a steady drumbeat of earned coverage from top tier and industry outlets
- Contribute to the creation of press materials, story angles, and proactive media outreach
- Coordinate media training for company spokespeople
- Track coverage and sentiment metrics and support the Head of Marketing’s internal reporting
- Oversee the planning and execution of announcements, website updates, social media messaging, and events
- Support thought leadership opportunities including speaking engagements, award submissions, and editorial placements
- Ensure consistent messaging across all external channels
- Partner with People Ops and leadership to strengthen company culture through inspiring internal messaging
- Develop strategic messaging, speeches, presentations, industry events, and media prep
- Coordinate thought leadership pieces with the Social Media and Content specialist to ensure consistent messaging across all channels
- Contribute to content for all-hands meetings, internal newsletters, and leadership updates
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in marketing, communications or related field
- 6+ years of communications experience in aerospace, technology, or related industries
- Proven ability to craft and execute integrated communications strategies
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Demonstrated exceptional writing and editing skills – able to distill technical topics into compelling narratives for press, partners, engineers, investors, and both industry-informed and broad audiences Enthusiasm about media and agency relationships and scaling press programs
- Ownership, pragmatism, and flexibility – experience balancing competing priorities, limited resources, and the everchanging reality of hardware-driven environments
- Strong curiosity and organizational skills with comfort working in high growth environments and fast-paced startups
- Bonus; strong relationships with reporters and new media creators
Additional Information:
Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.
Impulse Space’s spacecraft manufacturing business is subject to U.S. export regulations including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
