PART TIME PHARMACY TECHNICIAN

As a Pharmacy Technician you'll work under the supervision of a registered pharmacist and assist in various pharmacy activities related to preparing, dispensing, and distributing medications. Specific duties will include data entry, packaging, and labeling medications. You will be responsible for the accurate completion of daily activities and the follow-through of tasks assigned to you.

• Maintains a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
• Prepares and fills medication orders by barcode scanning
• Completes patient medication reconciliation lists
• Ensures medication returns are restocked in pharmacy
• Packages medication in unit doses
• Completes med room inspections
• Removes short-dated drugs from pharmacy, units, crash carts, and after-hours contingency cabinet
• Answering the phone and referring inquires to the pharmacist as needed
• Maintains pharmacy refrigerator temperature logs
• Sign out controlled substances on proof of use sheets

Position Requirements

• Must have and maintain a valid Pharmacy Technician license in the State of Illinois
• Experience:  Knowledge of use and dispensing of medications 
• Education: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Basic computer skills
• Available weekends
• Must adhere to infection-control policies (i.e vaccines/wearing masks when required)
• Willingness to learn and adapt to changes in a growing hospital

Compensation:

This is a part time position, and the expected compensation for this role is $18.75 per hour.
