Job Summary:
CPSFL has an exciting opportunity for a Child Development Specialist for BRIDGES at Pahokee for a full-time position.
The BRIDGES Child Development Specialist is responsible for many of the parent engagement services & activities at the BRIDGES. The goal is to recruit, retain and immerse parents of children 0-8 in an array of parental support activities so to improve child well-being and to create positive and lasting change for children and families in our targeted neighborhoods.
- Introduces and engages parents of children 0-5 to the ASQ3 screening tool and parent/child activities that address early childhood development milestones (including the ASQ3-focused P/C activities).
- Engages parents of children scoring in the Monitoring and Concern areas of the ASQ-3 prescreening to actively participate in ‘Raise Me Up’ activities.
- Integrates “Child Development” friendly materials into the Family Resource Center located at BRIDGES.
- Maintains complete, accurate and comprehensive records within a 24-hour time frame. Maintains client charts and clinical documentation in compliance with agency, CSC, ETO, DCF, and Medicaid standards, as applicable.
- Takes a lead role in the recruitment & enrollment of parents for the Incredible Years parenting education component.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related field of Social Services.
- Min 3 yrs. experience in related field.
- Flexible in work hours including some evenings and some Saturdays.
- Bi-lingual (Spanish) preferred.
- Possess effective computer skills & communication skills with a focus on customer service.
